Thanks to the abundance of high-ranking educational institutions calling the "Bay State" home, it's easy to locate accredited public health degree programs in Massachusetts with an excellent reputation for producing competent practitioners. As our nation's third most densely populated state with over 6.7 million residents, Massachusetts has a total of 132 hospitals, including the prestigious Massachusetts General Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Brigham and Women's Hospital. While its well-positioned as the third most healthy state, Massachusetts still has a need for leaders in the field of public health to lower health disparities, combat the high binge drinking rate, stop the obesity epidemic, and solve the rapidly growing number of preventable hospitalizations.
