MSHA: Master of Science in Health Administration
Two formats are offered that lead to a Master's degree in Health Administration. Students can choose a "Residential MSHA," which is designed for students who have recently completed or are completing an undergraduate degree. If a student has at least five years of experience working in the healthcare industry, they can choose the "Executive MSHA" program. The residential program is designed to last 33 months. 21 of these months are dedicated to instruction and coursework on subjects such as health maintenance, healthcare systems, consulting, research and more. The students then spend nine to twelve months in a work experience program that gives them hands-on knowledge of the healthcare administration field.
"Executive MSHA" participants are given the instruction, support, and guidance that they need in order to attain senior positions in the field. The program focuses on teaching them about healthcare marketing and economics, information systems for healthcare services, health law, operations management and strategic planning. The program is designed to fit around the schedules of people who are already working in healthcare administration. Students in this program do most of their coursework online.
