Though the "Bluegrass State" may be best known for its horse racing, country music, basketball, and fried chicken, there are also several highly ranked educational institutions that are offering accredited public health degree programs in Kentucky. Situated in the south-central region of the United States, Kentucky has received a poor reputation for its health outcomes. In fact, the United Health Foundation ranked Kentucky as the 4th least healthy state in America due to its high smoking prevalence, growing poverty rates, large number of preventable hospitalizations, increasing obesity problems, and rising drug death counts. Therefore, there's a need for qualified public health practitioners to build community health programs and implement policy changes to improve the state's well-being. If you're ready to leap into a rewarding career in helping Kentuckians prevent disease and prolong a healthy life, below are the four MPH degree programs available within Kentucky.
