Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration
The Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration requires students to complete 120 semester units, including at least 14 semester units of prerequisite courses. The prerequisite courses can be completed following program admission. Students must have at least a 2.4 overall grade point average for admittance and at least a grade of a "C" or better is required for both prerequisite and major courses. The graduation requirements include completion of general education courses, major course requirements, at least nine upper division elective courses, and fulfillment of the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement. The core major courses include medical terminology, epidemiology principles, health personal management, legal issues of health administration, financial management of healthcare entities, marketing for health services organizations, and evaluation of healthcare services. The program also requires two internship courses in healthcare administration.
Master of Science in Healthcare Administration
The Master of Science in Healthcare Administration strives to provide students with an abundance of skills needed for future careers, such as leadership, oral and written communication abilities, teamwork, managerial decision making, critical thinking, and conflict management. Applicants should have a minimum of nine units of coursework in accounting, statistics, and economics, but the prerequisite courses can be completed during the program. Students must have an overall grade point average of a 3.0 or higher. Completion of all prerequisite courses, fulfillment of the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement, and a minimum of 45 semester units of graduate-level courses is necessary for graduation. The curriculum includes economics of healthcare, healthcare organization and systems, healthcare human resources management, advanced healthcare financial management, advanced legal and ethical issues of health administration, health administration quantitative methods, and strategic planning in healthcare. Students must also complete a major project.

The Master of Business Administration program enables students to develop the expertise to excel in a dynamic and competitive business atmosphere. Students are prepared for an array of administrative and management positions. The program is typically a 48 semester unit degree for individuals without an undergraduate business degree. The requirements for graduation include completion of at least 36 units of graduate coursework, an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, completion of courses with a grade of a "C" or higher, and fulfillment of the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement. The general core courses include marketing, financial management, managerial and financial accounting, business policies, cost accounting, qualitative methods for management, and information systems management. Students are also required to complete various seminar courses. Students specializing in healthcare management must complete 12 units of coursework in the area, including at least nine units at the graduate level.
